03/29: The Killing, 1956 | Reservoir Dogs, 1992

In Week 5, we’ll be looking at non-linear Noir.  First we’ll watch Stanley Kubrick’s first Hollywood film, “The Killing” where a heist going wrong is told with a mixture of narration and flashbacks. We’ll follow that with another non-linear heist film with the ultimate homage to the heist genre, Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs”. Both films use their scattered plotting to serve the story and take the intensity to a maximum
